Production Manager and Film Academy Lead, David Alexander, answers our autumn Q&A.

Which film would you recommend to your clubs this term?

Jurassic Park - it was the first film that I saw in the cinema as a kid and so I'll love it and remember it forever. The ideas in the script and the special effects blew my mind and the score is some of John Williams' best work in my opinion. Obviously a film about dinosaurs would appeal to me as a kid (I used to love them) but I also learnt a lot from the story. The script had great characters, who all represented different points of view, and very clear themes and morals. For me it's one of the best movies ever made.

Is there a movie you would have liked to have worked on and why?

I would have loved to have worked on any of the James Bond films because of how iconic they are to cinema and England. I've been to Pinewood studios where they're often filmed and it felt incredibly exciting and special to be able to see how it all comes together. It truly takes an army to make these movies, but then that's why they are so special.

If you could give £1,000 to charity, which would it be and why is that?

I wish I could give £1,000 to every charity on the planet, but if I had to pick one right now I'd donate £1,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital because of the good work that they do with children. They're based in East London, which is where I grew up and have been around for a long time supporting young people, which I think is incredibly important and needed, because young people are the future.
