Film Academy is an after school programme of inspirational and creative film making sessions, supported by the British Film Institute (BFI) and the National Film and Television School (NFTS). Over the course of the 10 sessions run through each school term, the children will create and produce an original short film. This term it will be a silent movie, inspired by filmmaking greats from the early 20th century.
As well as writing, designing and producing their own short film, students will watch, critique and review Keaton & Chaplin films. Compose and perform beautiful soundtracks to replace dialogue and design slates with titles explaining scene changes that carry the viewer towards the film’s conclusion.
Learn to make films and gain certification in filmmaking accredited by the British Film Institute (BFI) whilst also having fun. See your films shown at Film Festivals and in amazing screening venues.
All of this under the stewardship of award winning filmmakers, artists and musicians. This isn’t just an after school club, this is a wonderful opportunity with memories to last a lifetime.
